Visitors Rides - '64-'72

Erik Vance's

1972 Cutlass

This is my 72 cutlass I bought about 5 years ago and have been restoring it for the last three. I bought the car for $900.00 and drove the hell out of it. When the motor started knocking I figured time to rebuild. I took out the 2bbrl 350/TH350 and put in a 455 and TH400. The 455 was bored.030 over, squared and balanced. Performer intake with QJ. Heads pocket ported and about 10.25:1 compression. comp roller rockers, Crane 272/284 484/512 cam, Hooker headers with 2.5 exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. I have also added, Hurst dual gate, buckets, tilt column with sport steering wheel, Ram air and disc brakes!! Would have been easier to buy it that way!!

When I first put the 455 in, un-tuned and with 3.07 posi and the TH350 I ran 13.42 and 13.49 at 99.9 mph. Since then I have added the TH400 with stage II shift kit and 2400 stall, Carter electric fuel pickup, 750 carb w/78 jets, Pro-form Hei distributor and 3.73 posi. I should have the car finished before summer is over and my goal is to run 12 teens!!
